Carlstad Crusaders clinched up the regular season league by defeating
last years National Champions, Stockholm Mean Machines 22-9. The game
opened with SMM making an impressive drive that resulted in a 6-0 lead
for the visiting team. The Crusaders were not playing at their best in
the first half and SMM was able to take a 9-7 lead into the halftime

Crusaders would fumble on their first play after the halftime break, but
the defense would stop SMM and continue to put the clamp down on a
usually explosive offense for the rest of the ball game. Crusaders
offense begin to put some plays together and was highlighted by a 78
yard pass play from Swedish QB Johan Larsson to Crusader WR Colon
McNeal. Carlstad will be the #1 seed going into the playoffs which
starts September 13th.

Maybe one of the most impressive things is that the Crusader defense has
given up only 54 points in the entire regular season, a new Swedish
record. That has been a tremendous accomplishment for this season. If
you include the EFAF Cup tournament games the Crusaders defense gave up
only 19 points in 12 quarters of play. Another accomplishment is that
offensively Crusaders has played the entire season and EFAF Cup
tournament with a Swedish QB.
