Berlin Adlers won Eurobowl Quarterfinal



Like last year, the Adler won in the Quarterfinal of the Eurobowl.
The Adler were successful - this time with a 35:25 win against the Danube Dragons.

The Adler celebrated reaching of semi-finals again, but it was hard work. The early 6-0 lead at the start of the 1.Quarters (8-yard pass from QB Clint Toon to Danilo Gonzales Naranjo, PAT blocked) was just seconds later leveled by a 71-yard pass from Jimmy Russell to ab uncovered Sean Fullerton. The successful PAT by Sebastian Daum gave the Austrian Champions a 6:7 lead. Later in the 1st Quarter, the Adler was able take lead back with a 2-yard run by Tory Cooper making it 13-7.

That was just the start of an impressive performance by the Berlin running back,. However the next score came from Paul Eichinger, a 25-yard field goal giving the Adler the lead16:7. After a 3 and out by the Dragons, Tory Cooper returned the punt 81 yards for a TD.

The Dragons, however did not let up: Sean Fullerton returned the following kickoff, 90 yards for a touchdown at 23:14. This was the score when the teams went in at halftime.

After a long drive aided by two pass interference penalties, the Dragons scored a 27-yard field goal by Sebastian Daum at 23:17. The game was open again and again so that the stage was prepared for Tory Cooper. With a 7-yard run, he built the Eagles lead back to 29:17. The PAT was again blocked.

The 6 yard run by the Clint Toon made it 35:17. The Adler tried a 2-point conversion, but unfortunately was not successful.
The following Drive by Dragons ended with an Interception from Michael Gardier at the Adler own 3 Yard Line.
After 3 runs, the Adler took a safety. After the Free kick the Dragons needed just three plays to get in the endzone, Fullerton, caught a 25-yard Td-pass. The 2-point conversion failed. The onside kick the Dragons was not successful, and so were the Eagles can run down the clock for the 35:25 win.

In the semifinals, it is again a German-Austrian duel, this time Graz Giants defeated the Crusaders Carlstad from Sweden 41:24. and are the next opponent for the Adlers.
