EFL: Milan beat Nice in the opening match
At the end it was exciting again. In the first game of the EFL in Group A, the Rhinos Milano beat the Dauphens de Nice very close with 28:21.
For a long time it looked as if the hosts from Milan clearly dominated the team from Nice. After three touchdowns in the first half by quarterback TJ Pryor and running back Giacomo Querzola and a touchdown pass from Pryor to Gabriele Arioli and a touchdown of the French, the Italian champion increased their lead in the second half with a successful catch of Pietro Elmi in the endzone to 28:7.
But the team from southern France did not give up. By two touchdowns of their quarterback Rondell White - the second after a successful onside kick - the guests came back very impressive.
But the last attack of the dolphins brought the decision for the Rhinos, when Luca Vanni intercepted a pass from White.
Despite their tight defeat, Nice now has good chances to qualify for the final of the EFL in the rematch on 6th of May.
