SAJL - FINLAND

Finnish Maple League regular season is now over and the fight for the
national championship is about to begin. In semifinals next weekend the
regular season champion Turku Trojans will host 4th place Porvoo Butchers
and 2nd place Helsinki Roosters will meet 3rd place Seinäjoki Crocodiles.

Saturday 28th at 2pm Velodrome, Helsinki
Helsinki Roosters vs Seinäjoki Crocodiles

Helsinki Roosters ended their regular season with 9-1 record losing only
at Turku in early July. For the Crocodiles the season ended 7-3, losing
twice to Trojans and once to Roosters. Though Roosters took the win in the
regular season game, it took until overtime to score the winning points in
the game. Both teams racked up almost 500yds of offense combining for 991
yards (367r, 624p) and it will be a challenge for both teams to contain
the others offense in this one too.

Sunday 29th at 4pm Yläkenttä, Turku
Turku Trojans vs Porvoo Butchers

Trojans played the regular season perfectly finishing with 10-0 record
while Porvoo Butchers had to settle for 6-4 finish losing twice to
Roosters and once to both Trojans and Crocodiles. While Roosters and
Crocodiles each pounded Butchers, the Trojans needed a late game FG to
edge the Butchers. For the Trojans it has been a up and down season. After
the lop sided Eurobowl games the team got it together and collected the
regular season win dodging few close ones on the way with the perfect
record. Butchers had some tough times down the road but has ruined Trojans
Maple Bowl births in the past. Will it happen this time remains to be
seen.

MAPLE BOWL XXV
Finnish national championship game, the Maple Bowl XXV, will be played at
Helsinki Velodrome on Saturday 4th of September. The bronze game matching
the semifinal game losers will kick-off at 12.00 and the Maple Bowl XXV at
4pm. Tickets available at gate or pre-ordering from SAJL-Finland office.
Adults 15 euros, children 5 euros including both games.
